It feels like its been a while. Mostly due to us working undercover to get the new website done (It's on it's way!!) A man named Fish is carving out our future as we speak.
But that only means we've got lots to catch you up on!
Studio A upgrades :
SSL A/D
We've made a quantum leap with our Analogue to Digital conversion by ditching our 003 rack for the SSL alpha link Madi interface. This will give us a maximum of 48 channels in and out simultaneously at incredible quality.

Drum replacement
This week at Flipside we've been mixing the Charmers 5 track EP (check out our blog entry on the recording here). As with any full band set up we began editing the drums/percussion first. In this session we chose to edit the drum takes while tracking which meant that we were able to record the rest of the instruments on an already tightened drum take. Whats left for us to do is the sound replacement...

Eliminating amp buzz - Lessons from the charmers session.
So we're on day 4 of recording a 5 track EP with the charmers, an up and coming band from the midlands, and we all get in early to set up guitar tones for the day. Eventually we strike upon a solution, but first lets learn more about the problem...

Flyering in the rain
So we took the new interns (Nadine and Sam) for a short stroll round our local area with a few flyers in hand. Thankfully they didn't moan at all (I think they're scared of Nathan) and after about 30 minutes of torrential rain and soggy flyers we ran back to the studio for a cup of hot coffee.
I reckon we'll pick this back up when the heavens have shut. But a good induction to Flipsides local marketing strategy (that sounds pretty impressive huh!)
Paul.
